What is Check-ins?
This feature enables Dailybot to conduct daily check-ins with your team, gathering information about their activities.
The collected data is stored and displayed in Dailybot's web dashboard and can optionally be posted to your chat platform.
Daily Check-ins
You can configure when to conduct daily check-ins by defining the days or times for it.
Each user can individually set their timezone and specify the time for the daily reminder. The key questions that Dailybot asks are:
What did you do Yesterday?
What are you going to work on Today?
Do you have any blockers?
Retrospectives and other types of check-ins
Dailybot offers flexibility beyond daily check-ins. You can configure various check-ins, such as weekly retrospectives, management 1-1s, weekly status reports, wellness check-ins, and more. Explore all available templates through the web application or upgrade your plan to create custom question templates.
Reporting to your chat or email
The Skill can post reports to your chat platform (Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, etc.). You have the option to receive reports as they are completed (one by one) or as aggregated reports at a specified time.
Additionally, each user can configure whether they want to receive emails simultaneously with aggregated reports sent to the channels. Other possible email reports include:
Daily Digest: An email summarizing "what happened yesterday," providing a snapshot of all the check-ins you have visibility into.
Weekly Digest: An email summarizing the previous 7 days, perfect for a Friday read or a start-of-the-week catch-up over a cup of coffee or tea.
Changing the channel used for public check-ins reports
You can change the channel or space for sending your reports at any moment, and you must be an administrator or check-in owner/editor to do so:
Go to Check-ins and click the check-in you want to change
In the detailed view, select Configure Check-in in the top-right menu
In the modal window, select the Sharing tab
Locate the option: Share reports in a channel
Use the dropdown to change the channel/room
Save the changes
Considerations for private channels in Slack
Invite DailyBot manually to the private channel first, before you even do the steps from above
If you still don't see the channel in your dropdown, please try removing and re-adding DailyBot to the channel – you can use the command /add @dailybot in the channel
Considerations for Microsoft Teams channels
In Microsoft Teams, you can install your apps in the workspace or in specific teams. DailyBot should be installed in the team where your channel is
Please make sure DailyBot is reachable (using the @DailyBot handle) within the team and channel
In the web app, please use the search bar to find the channel, notice that the name of the team in Microsoft Teams will appear after the channel name
Considerations for Google Chat spaces
Invite DailyBot to the space first and then follow the previous steps
If you don't see the space in the list, please remove and re-add the bot again (from Google Chat) and refresh DailyBot's web page to repeat the previous steps
Dashboard Features
Explore a comprehensive dashboard offering a quick overview of report completions and reported blockers for the current day. Additionally, you have the flexibility to browse through historical data and filter activities based on users or types of questions.
Motivational Questions:
Optionally, configure this product to monitor your team's motivation. Specify the day of the week when Dailybot should inquire about team members' feelings towards work on a scale of 1 to 5. The answers remain anonymous, and administrators have the flexibility to decide whether metrics are transparent to the entire team or visible only to admins/managers.
Email digests
The Skill can also create email digests with consolidated reports and send them to your email, daily or weekly, depending on your plan.
