Understanding DailyBot's Channel Updates:
DailyBot collaborates with your chat platform to update relevant information about its channels on demand. For example, every time you update the name of your channel, your chat platform notifies DailyBot to update this information in our records.
So, what happens when issues arise?
Sometimes, there are too many of these "notifications" in line, which can slow down the update process or halt it altogether. When that happens, you might notice that you can't:
a) Find your channel, even after inviting the bot there.
b) See up-to-date info about the channel correctly, like a name you just changed.
What to do:
-
Stay Calm:
- Don't panic. Give it a couple of minutes [if possible] to allow the problem to resolve itself.
-
Bot Re-invitation:
- If the channel or space doesn't appear in the dropdown after inviting the bot, remove and re-add the bot (re-invitation). Refresh your activity on the app.
-
Force Channel Update:
- If the issue persists, try the following on the affected public or private channel:
- Type:
@DailyBot add_channel
or@DailyBot addChannel
to force an update of our channel information. - Refresh the app and check for improvements.
