DailyBot must be invited to at least one channel before you can set up this workflow
With the help of DailyBot Workflows, you can welcome new users to your company chat in 2-3 minutes, whether that is MS Teams, Slack, Discord, or Google Chat. In this article, we're going to use five simple steps to automate the introduction of new DailyBot users in a public channel in your chat:
Step 1
Go to the main menu and click Automation & Add-Ons
Step 2
Select the tab Workflows in the top right side of your screen, then click Create Workflow
Step 3
In the new wizard, fill out the basic details of your workflow, including selecting the trigger "User is added to this organization"
Step 4
Choose the action you want to use to notify your team of the new member. In our case, we'll use "Send a chat message" to send a welcoming message to a channel called #general whenever a new user is added to our DailyBot organization.
Step 5
In the next step, add your welcoming message. For the purpose of this article, we're going to try something like this, feel free to play with our workflow variables to customize your message:
Hey, team! Please join me in welcoming our newest team member, {{user.full_name}}!
{{user.first_name}} will be joining us in our Engineering team and we're excited to have them on board. Let's all make sure to give our newest teammate a warm welcome and help them get settled in. 🤗
{{user.first_name}} want to share a few details about yourself, too?
In "Channels (that will receive the message)" we search for the name of the channel involved in this workflow before we hit Save Action.
You can save your workflow now! It will start running immediately and it will notify the channel(s) you selected of new approved requests moving forward. You're on a roll.
