With the help of DailyBot Workflows, you can automatically handle all of your employee time-off requests from the comfort of your chat. In this article, we're going to use six simple steps to notify your HR team of all approved requests in a channel – all in real time! All it takes is 5-10 minutes to configure it:
Go to the main menu and click Automation & Add-Ons
Select the tab Workflows in the top right side of your screen, then click Create Workflow
In the new wizard, fill out the basic details of your workflow, including selecting the trigger "Form record is approved"
Select the form you want to use for time-off approvals from the search bar, then click Save trigger
Select the action you want to use to notify the HR team of all incoming time-off requests that were approved by their team manager. In our case, we'll use "Send a chat message" to send an alert to an HR-approved channel whenever a new request gets approved in the form we selected above.
Add a message letting the HR team know that a new request was just approved in a form they supervise. We're going to add a 1-minute delay in our example to make sure that the message comes after the report is submitted, just not right after.
In "Channels (that will receive the message)" we search for the name(s) of the HR channel(s) involved in this workflow before we hit Save Action.
You can save your workflow now! It will start running immediately and it will notify the channel(s) you selected of new approved requests moving forward. You're on a roll.
