If you've been encountering problems:
a) selecting your channel or space (old or new) for reports
b) seeing the newest name of your channel in the dropdown
c) interacting with DailyBot in channels
keep reading for help. We got you!
DailyBot works with your chat platform to update relevant information about its channels on demand, which means that, for instance, every time you update the name of your channel, your chat platform notifies DailyBot so it can update this info on our records.
So what happens?
Sometimes, there are too many of these "notifications" in line, which can slow down the update process or halt it altogether. When that happens, you will notice that you can't:
a) find your channel, even after inviting the bot there.
b) see up-to-date info about the channel correctly, like a name you just changed.
Ok, so what do I do?
- Don't panic. Give it a couple of minutes [if you can] to make sure the problem can't solve itself.
- If you can't see the channel or space in question in the dropdown after inviting the bot, remove and re-add the bot (re-invitation) and refresh whatever you're doing on the app.
- If that doesn't work, try again on said public or private channel by typing:
@DailyBot add_channel
(or@DailyBot addChannel
) to force an update of our channel information. Refresh the app and see how it works. - If you can't see the new name of a channel after a change, try removing and re-adding the bot to said channel and refresh the web app. That should immediately solve your issue.
