DailyBot supports shared channels in Slack, which is highly useful in cases where you want to have cross-organization workflows, or if you just want to have some external members reading reports that are coming out from DailyBot, based on your check-in settings.
Configuring a shared channel
DailyBot should be manually invited to the shared channel in Slack. This is an important step because otherwise you won't be able to see the channel in the dropdown menu on the web application.
Please follow these steps:
1- Add the bot to the shared channel, i.e. typing /add @DailyBot in your shared channel
2- On the web app, navigate to Manage Check-ins in the top bar, select "Edit Settings" on the report you want to update, and change the channel where the reports should be sent in the Sharing tab
Troubleshooting
If the channel doesn't appear in the dropdown options, even after adding DailyBot to the channel, please try removing the bot from the shared channel and adding it back. If that doesn't work, open a new ticket.
