DailyBot supports shared channels in Slack, which is highly useful in cases where you want to have cross-organization workflows, or if you just want to have some external members reading reports that are coming out from DailyBot, based on your check-in settings.
Configuring a shared channel
DailyBot should be manually invited to the shared channel in Slack. This is an important step because otherwise you won't be able to see the channel in the dropdown menu on the web application.
Please follow these steps:
- Add the bot to the shared channel, i.e. typing /add @DailyBot in your shared channel
- Navigate to Check-ins and click the 3 dots in front of the report you want to update > select Configure
- Change the channel where the reports should be sent in the Sharing tab > scroll down and click the blue button Save changes
3- The bot should be able to post reports into that shared channel from now on
Troubleshooting
If the channel doesn't appear in the drop-down options, even after adding DailyBot to the channel, please try removing the bot from the shared channel and adding it back. If that doesn't work, open a new ticket.
